The term **darknet** refers to a portion of the internet that is intentionally hidden and not accessible through standard search engines or browsers. It typically requires special software, configurations, or authorization to access-such as the Tor network. The darknet is often used to preserve anonymity and privacy; however, it can also host both legitimate and illicit activities, such as private communication, whistleblowing platforms, or black markets.
