AWS Embeds Amazon Quick in Office Workflows
AWS says Amazon Quick is now generally available inside Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook through Microsoft 365 extensions. The release is aimed at enterprise teams that already keep daily work in Office apps but need access to dashboards, knowledge bases and third-party systems. The company frames the move as agentic AI where work happens, with the assistant able to act inside documents, spreadsheets, presentations and email rather than only answer questions. The Outlook extension uses message context such as subject, sender, recipients, thread history and timestamps, according to AWS. The company says Quick can draft replies, reply-all messages and new emails while preserving conversation boundaries across Outlook, Gmail and Apple Mail threads.AWS also says the side panel can add recipients, include attachments and schedule sends. For inbox work, it can flag, categorize and move messages, summarize long threads and extract action items. These features make Outlook the most operationally sensitive part of the release, because email actions affect external communication as well as internal productivity.
Deployment, authentication and regional controls
AWS says the extensions require no client-side installation because they run in the cloud. Administrators can push them to targeted users and groups through the Microsoft 365 admin center using a standard manifest, while individual users can install through the Microsoft add-in store by searching for Quick.The Outlook extension is the exception AWS flags for many organizations, because Graph API permissions commonly require admin approval for full functionality. Authentication uses Quick native authentication and does not require an Entra app. AWS also says the extensions are available across seven Quick AWS Regions: US East in N. Virginia, US West in Oregon, Europe in Ireland, London and Frankfurt, and Asia Pacific in Sydney and Tokyo.
