The X-59 is an experimental aircraft developed by NASA and Lockheed Martin as part of the Low-Boom Flight Demonstrator program. Its purpose is to test technologies that reduce the loudness of sonic booms produced when an aircraft flies faster than the speed of sound, with the goal of enabling future commercial supersonic flight over land.
