The U.S. Congress is the legislative branch of the federal government of the United States. It is a bicameral body composed of two chambers—the Senate and the House of Representatives. Congress is responsible for making federal laws, declaring war, regulating interstate and foreign commerce, and controlling taxation and government spending, among other duties.
