Elizabeth Warren is an American politician, lawyer, and academic who has served as the senior United States senator from Massachusetts since 2013. She is a member of the Democratic Party and is known for her work on consumer protection, economic opportunity, and the regulation of financial institutions. Before her time in the Senate, she was a law professor at Harvard University and played a key role in the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Warren was also a candidate in the 2020 Democratic presidential primaries.
