The term **'BTC supply'** refers to the total number of bitcoins that exist or can exist within the Bitcoin network. This includes both the bitcoins that have already been mined (in circulation) and those that are yet to be mined (up to the maximum limit of 21 million BTC set by the protocol). The supply changes over time as new blocks are mined and decreases in rate approximately every four years due to the halving event.
