Altseason (short for “altcoin season”) refers to a period in the cryptocurrency market when the prices of alternative cryptocurrencies—those other than Bitcoin—rise significantly, often outperforming Bitcoin in terms of percentage gains. During altseason, investor interest and capital shift from Bitcoin into altcoins, leading to rapid and widespread appreciation across many smaller crypto assets.
